A tip of the cap and a hearty huzzah to existing digital subscribers who have moved with use from our old platform, Atavist. And welcome to our new digital subscribers who are new to the site!
Atavist, the company that hosted Military Images since we established our premium digital site in 2015, is officially shut down as of the week of April 19, 2021. During the past several weeks, we’ve migrated more than 450 stories from Atavist to WordPress. The migration was automated with the help of the technologists at WordPress. Migrations are never perfect, and each file must be cleaned by hand—a time consuming process. All of the stories for our current issue (Spring 2021) have been tidied up, and we’ll tackle the remaining stories in the weeks and months to come. Please bear with us as we go through this process.
